Valon muotoja – Forms of Light exhibitionfeatures experimental light installations and lamps made out of concrete.
Heavy, big, ugly, rough, vague, grey, hard… These are often the first attributes we relate to concrete. The design students from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture are challenging these established conventions of concrete as material by trying to combine concrete and light.
As a result the students showcase experimental lamps and light installations which aim to turn the heavy weight of concrete into light appearance. They tried to turn hard to soft and reveal beauty where we expect to see ugliness. These brave concepts demonstrate that our established conventions can be changed.
Forms of Light exhibition showcases contemporary lamb prototypes made by design students from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Prototypes were realized at Product and Form -course organized by Contemporary Design masters program 2021-2022.
