Exhibition 9.9. – 2.10.2021 at Glasshouse Helsinki gallery
Aalto Fashion 21 vol.2 extends the presentation of Aalto University’s fashion programme and its student work from the annual fashion show into an exhibition format. It allows for a closer look into the richness of thinking and processes behind the showcased collections as well as the materials, cuts and construction of the final pieces. Students share their personal and collaborative projects in the form of installations that exhibit the thoughts and feelings manifest in their work. The exhibition features collections from the Fashion BA2 course together with other selected student work.
Experimental light installations and lamps made out of concrete
Heavy, big, ugly, rough, vague, grey, hard… These are often the first attributes we relate to concrete. The design students from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture are challenging these established conventions of concrete as material by trying to combine concrete and light.
This year, the main events Helsinki Design Week 2021 will take place at Glasshouse Helsinki Aleksanterinkatu location taking over the second, third and fourth floors.
This summer Glasshouse Helsinki is proud to present three different exhibitions by fresh talents of Vapaa Taidekoulu and Aalto University at the gallery space on the second floor.
